Reunion after 20 years

We left the benches of the Lutheran High School in Tisovec in the past century, more precisely in 1997. It was 20 years ago and now we again met at the school and in a small town.
Every reunion so far has been somewhat exceptional. This year was associated with the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the high school. Therefore, the program of our meeting was mixed with the school celebration program. We took part in the church service, where the elder brother Bishop of the Western District of ECAV preached. With our classmates and other graduates and pastors, we have liturgized our service, and we have also remembered the teachers, staff and students who have preceded us into eternity.
The Lutheran church led our footsteps to the town's cultural center, where the main program conjured up the smiles on our faces. Through the video projection and personal testimony of American friends, it has revived memories of setting up the school, reconstructing the current building and our student times.
The common lunch, the reception for the graduates and the meeting with the teachers did not take place without talk and prayer. Informal evening interviews in a circle of friends ended a nice day.
On behalf of all twenty-five graduates who came to the meeting, I thank the leaders of the Lutheran high school, teachers, employees and our organizers for the preparation and realization of the meeting and celebrations we attended. A great thank you especially belongs to the Lord God for His grace and the blessing of the school during the past 25 years.

Stretnutie po 20 rokoch

Lavice Evanjelického gymnázia v Tisovci sme opustili ešte v minulom storočí, presnejšie v roku 1997. Ubehlo 20 rokov a my sme sa opäť stretli v priestoroch školy a malom mestečku.
Každé doterajšie stretnutie bolo niečím výnimočné. Tohtoročné bolo spojené s 25. výročím založenia gymnázia. Program nášho stretnutia sa teda prelínal s programom osláv školy. Doobeda sme sa zúčastnili na službách Božích, na ktorých kázal dôstojný brat biskup Západného dištriktu ECAV. So spolužiakom a ostatnými absolventami i kňazmi sme na službách liturgovali a v rámci programu sme si spomenuli aj na učiteľov, zamestnancov a študentov, ktorí nás predišli do večnosti.
Z evanjelického kostola viedli naše kroky do mestského kultúrneho strediska, kde nám na tvárach vyčaril úsmev hlavný program. Ten nám cez videoprojekciu a osobné svedectvá amerických priateľov oživil spomienky na zriadenie školy, rekonštrukciu súčasnej budovy a naše študentské časy.
Spoločný obed, recepcia pre absolventov a stretnutie s učiteľmi sa nezaobišli bez príhovorov a modlitieb. Neformálne večerné rozhovory v kruhu priateľov ukončili príjemný deň.
V mene všetkých dvadsiatich piatich absolventov, ktorí prišli na stretávku, ďakujem vedeniu evanjelického gymnázia, učiteľom, zamestnancom ako aj našim organizátorkám za prípravu a realizáciu stretnutia i osláv, na ktorých sme sa zúčastnili. Veľké poďakovanie patrí predovšetkým Pánu Bohu za Jeho milosť a žehnanie školy počas uplynulých 25. rokov.
