Debate week in Tisovec

For the third time in a row, our high school was hosting a debate workshop for first-year students. Thanks to the help of our partnership with Slovak debate association (SDA) we were able to ensure elite lecturers (inter alia Edinburgh, London) that improved skills of our students not only in oral presentation but also speech content.
Pupils were taught how to argue, do rebuttals and avoid logical inconsistencies. At the end of the week students practised debating the proper Popper model of debate which is debated at top debate contests. The motion for final debate was: Failing students should take mandatory classes during summer vacation.

Debatný týždeň v Tisovci

Už po tretíkrát sa na našom gymnáziu uskutočnil debatný workshop pre študentov 1. ročníka. Vďaka pomoci Slovenskej debatnej asociácie (SDA) sme pre študentov zabezpečili špičkových debatných lektorov (o.i. Edinburgh, Londýn), ktorí študentov učili ako naplniť slovný prejav formou aj obsahom.
Žiaci sa učili argumentácii, refutácii, logickým chybám a v závere týždňa si vyskúšali model Popperovej debaty, ktorým sa debatuje aj na elitných debatných súťažiach. Téza pre debatu znela: Neprospievajúci študenti by sa mali cez letné prázdniny povinne vzdelávať.
